More accolades continue to pour in for Alice Wright and Sophie Connor.
Along with a national championship in the 2015-2016 cross country season, the pair have recently been added to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Track & Field/Cross Country District 7 Teams, released on Thursday.
Joining women’s all-district squad was senior jumper Yannick Roggatz on the men’s track and field team.
According to a UNM release, the men’s and women program have placed a track and field/cross country member on the academic all-district team five years in a row. In order to qualify, an athlete must be above a sophomore, have a 3.3 GPA or higher and compete in Division I schools located in New Mexico, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas and Wyoming.
The three individuals will now be in contention for receiving Academic All-American honors, announced in June.
Connor and Roggatz are both seniors while Wright is the only member in both programs listed as an underclassmen, a redshirt sophomore.
