New Mexico’s women’s basketball program joined the men with a top-25 fan base in the nation.

The NCAA announced on Friday morning that the women’s basketball program finished 11th in the nation with an average of 5,511 fans in 17 home games at WisePies Arena.

UNM’s program has now finished among the nation’s top-25 for the 17th consecutive season.

The Mountain West overall finished seventh in the nation and the Lobos were the dominant contributor. The average attendance in the league was 1,622 and UNM more than doubled the average turnout.

New head coach Mike Bradbury said he expects more of a turnout with the excitement of his fast-paced offensive approach.
