Breaking and entering at Lobo Village
On Sept. 4, an officer was dispatched to Lobo Village after being called by a victim who said a stranger had entered her apartment without her permission, according to the UNMPD report.
The report indicates that the victim was alone at the apartment, as her roommates were out of town. The offender, who damaged the front door upon entry, was described as a long-haired male wearing blue jeans and a white T-shirt.
The victim locked herself in her room, fearing for her safety. According to the report, when officers arrived, the offender was asleep on the living room couch.
Officers woke the offender up, and he appeared intoxicated. When asked why he was at the apartment, he stared and did not respond. The scent of alcohol was coming from his facial area, the report states.
The offender was arrested for the forced and unauthorized entry into the victim’s apartment.
Criminal Damage at Clark Hall
On the morning of Sept. 6, an officer was sent to Clark Hall, where custodians reported damage to bathrooms they were scheduled to clean at 4 a.m.
According to the UNMPD report, the custodial staff had finished cleaning when the officer arrived, but damages still remained. On the second floor, a bathroom changing table was broken, a thermostat missing and a sink removed from the wall with some of its hardware missing.
The missing thermostat was found in the basement, along with a pile of cigarette butts, the report states. Piles of tape were on the floor in one bathroom; piles of paper towels were on the floor in another. Strawberries and other items had been removed from the refrigerator and were smashed on the floor in the lounge. UNM’s Physical Plant Department is creating a quote on the damages.
There are currently are no suspects.
Motor Vehicle Stolen from Hospital Parking Structure

On Sept. 6, a victim reported that his vehicle, which had been parked just below the top of the UNM Hospital West Parking Structure, had been stolen, according to the UNMPD report.
The report states that the vehicle was taken between 12 p.m. and 6 p.m.
At the time, the vehicle was carrying mechanics’ tools, clothing, a DVD player and a laptop computer.
No suspects or witnesses have been identified. UNMPD dispatch entered the vehicle into the National Crime Information Center, a database that is accessible nationwide.
Distressed Woman Taken for Emergency Medical Evaluation
On the afternoon of Sept. 7, an officer was called to 2602 Campus Boulevard NE, Laguna 1, regarding a distraught woman.
According to the UNMPD report, the officer attempted to speak to the crying woman, who was identified by her driver’s license. The woman looked through a baby book while discussing her granddaughter and grew more upset when the officer tried to speak with her, according to the report.
When asked simple questions, the woman appeared disoriented, and she was taken for an Emergency Medical Evaluation.
