Domestic battery
On the afternoon of August 19, officers were dispatched to the neighborhood area of Bradbury and Basehart SE in response to a domestic violence and battery on a household member call, according to a UNMPD report. The report states the victim was going to pick her son up from campus, near University and Central. The victim then drove around for a while trying to locate her son.
Upon finding him, the report states she noted he was with friends she had told him not to be around. According to the report, the son yelled at his mother to “stop f------ stalking him.”
After he got in the vehicle, the victim began to drive while the son was still yelling at her. The son attempted to put the car in reverse multiple times, grabbed the victim’s phone and threw the charger cord out the window of the moving vehicle. The son also grabbed the victim’s right arm, leaving small red marks on her skin.
Criminal damage to Innovate Albuquerque
On the early morning of August 24, officers were dispatched to 101 Broadway Blvd. NE, the Innovate Albuquerque property, in response to a broken window located in one of the buildings within the compound. The Albuquerque Police Department was dispatched as well.
According to the report, the broken window was located on the west side of the compound. The report states an unknown person had thrown a brick through the glass pane. After APD and UNMPD cleared the building, it was turned over to realtor/contractor for necessary repairs. No witnesses or suspects are known at this time.
Bike stolen on campus
On the early morning of August 24, a student reported to UNMPD that his bicycle had been stolen.
According to the report, the victim secured his bike to the rack located on the north side of Coronado Dormitory. The bike was secured with a cable lock. The victim states the theft occurred sometime between midnight and 7 a.m.
The victim described his bicycle as a black, with a worn black seat, rusty handlebar connects and scratches located on the gear shift, valued at $119. No witnesses or suspects are known at this time.
Auto burglary at Yale parking structure

On the afternoon of August 25, a UNM student found her vehicle burglarized in the Yale parking structure, according to a police report. The victim parked her vehicle on the third floor at 11:45 a.m.
When she returned, she began to drive before noticing the glove compartment was open and papers were strewn about. Items missing included a pair of sunglasses, an insurance card and vehicle registration, according to the report.
According to the report, the victim thinks the offender may have entered through the right rear passenger window since it had been pulled down. No damage was found to the vehicle and there are no suspects at this point.
Vehicle stripped of tire, rim
On the morning of August 26, an officer was dispatched to R lot in response to a larceny call.
According to a UNMPD report, the victim had parked her vehicle in the lot four days prior. The vehicle remained there until Friday, August 26.
Upon returning, her vehicle was missing the front passenger tire and rim. The vehicle was only resting on the rotor and axle. The victim said no persons had permission to remove the tire or rim. No suspects or witnesses were found at the time.
UNM South Golf Course burglary
On the afternoon of August 27, an officer was dispatched to UNM South Golf Course in response to an auto burglary.
According to a UNMPD report, the victim had parked his vehicle at 10:30 a.m. Upon returning to the vehicle at 4:30 p.m., the victim discovered the driver’s side window had been shattered and papers located in the center console had been thrown about the car.
The victim noted blood on the driver’s seat.
A second officer was dispatched to the scene to process the evidence,the report states.
Although video surveillance was requested, the general manager was out of the office for the next couple days. Officers left information on how to obtain a CD containing video surveillance of the parking lot during listed times. The victim did not think anything was taken from his vehicle. No witnesses or suspects have been located at this time.
