Letter: Some of the best signs from ABQ Women's March

Editor,

I am writing to share the messages from some of my favorite protest signs from last Saturday’s Women’s March on Washington in Albuquerque. Some made me laugh, some made me cry (on the inside, at least) and all of them made me think. Here they are:

Girls just want to have fundamental rights.

Science is REAL.

Respect existence or expect resistance.

We want our whole damned dollar!

Tweet women with respect.

Standing like a rock for ALL rights.

Love — not hate — makes America great.

America got grabbed.

You’ll never overcomb the Constitution.

There is no Planet B.

Planet rights are women’s rights are human rights.

Health care not warfare.

Education not deportation.

Uteruses B4 duderuses.

Actually, the smallest part of Trump is his mind.

We are the wall and Trump is going to pay.

They tried to bury us. They didn’t know we are seeds.

Science is not a liberal conspiracy.

¡Viva la vulva!

SO tired of carrying this sign since the 1960’s.

Let Melania tweet!

“Thou shalt not mess with women’s rights” ~Fallopians 3:24

You came out of one — respect women’s bodies!

Dump Drumpf.

He is the swamp.

If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you stand with the oppressor.

OMG GOP WTF.

If my mom and sisters cry, I cry.

Mine eyes have seen the glory of women’s rage.

None of this matters if we destroy our home.

Down with the climate change deniers!

Dumbledore wouldn’t let this happen.

I will share one last message that I saw on Saturday: “We’ve marched . . . Now what?” To anyone who agrees with any of these statements: Let’s not allow the passion and democracy demonstrated on Saturday fade into a moment. Let’s make it a movement.

Onward together,

Melissa Krukar
