It would be safe to say that the bats for New Mexico bats were quiet against Oklahoma State as the team suffered another loss on Wednesday afternoon.
New Mexico (11-5, 6-0 MW) mustered just three hits in the second of a two-game series, losing a second consecutive game to the Oklahoma State as the Cowboys improved to 11-6 on the season.
The Cowboys pounded out 16 hits and lit up the scoreboard, in a lopsided 13-0 victory at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium.

Oklahoma State wasted no time getting going and chased Lobo starting pitcher Austin Isenhart out of the game after 1.2 innings on the mound.
The Lobos looked to be on the right track in the first inning, as Isenhart retired two of the first three batters, allowing only a single to put a runner on first.

Isenhart seemed unphased when he got back to work in the second inning, retiring two of the first three OSU batters again.
But Oklahoma State struck again, as Cowboys’ Garrett Benge cranked a two-run homer to right field. The Cowboys racked up two more hits in the inning to score another run and break things open 7-0.
Things continued to go off the rails as they put up another run in the third, for an 8-0 advantage.
UNM had a good scoring chance in the sixth inning after freshman Beau Capanna drew a leadoff walk, though he was put out on a fielder’s choice on a Gonzalez’ grounder.

New Mexico got its first hit of the game on a Collier single to advance Gonzalez to second base and put him in scoring position with one out.
But junior third baseman Carl Stajduhar struck out and first baseman Jack Zoellner flew out to end the inning.
OSU had its biggest inning in the bottom of the seventh, scoring five runs for a 13-0 margin that ended up being the final score in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Isenhart was on the hook for the loss as he was responsible for seven runs on eight hits. Though UNM cycled through five relief pitchers, it was Drew Gillespie and Chad Smith that allowed the other six runs, with Smith surrendering the five runs in the seventh inning.
The Lobos will try to get back on track in their upcoming three-game series at Cal State Fullerton, which begins on Friday, Mar. 17. All three games will be broadcasted on ESPN Radio 101.7, The TEAM.
