Lobo Day to be held today in the SUB

A source close to the matter has confirmed to the Daily Lobo that there will be cake (but no candles) available during a celebration today for the University of New Mexico’s 130th birthday party in the Student Union Building on Thursday, which will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The annual tradition includes eating cake and taking a large photo of students wearing cherry and silver. The photo will be on display on the second floor on the SUB, replacing the picture of last year’s celebration.

President Garnett Stokes will give a speech during the celebration, her first one as president of UNM. The event is co-sponsored by UNM Communications and Marketing.
