Tribute to Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras Tour’ comes to Popejoy Hall

On Saturday, Sept. 6, “Are You Ready For It? A Taylor Swift Experience” will be performed at the University of New Mexico’s Popejoy Hall.

The show is a theatrical performance starring tribute artist Traci Marie, who portrays Taylor Swift. She captures the spectacle of the real thing through her costumes, signature mannerisms, live vocals, choreography, multimedia visuals and audience interaction, to create an “Eras Tour experience.”

Marie is a nominee for the Josie Music Awards Tribute Artist of the Year 2024, according to Popejoy Presents.

Marie said she has been singing since elementary school, and joined choir and musical theater in high school.

Marie started her Taylor Swift performing career in 2023 at wedding performances, where Taylor Swift songs were commonly requested by her audiences, she said. Marie and her husband currently perform therapy programs for senior citizens as well as fairs and festivals all over the Chicago, Illinois, area.

“Taylor started her Eras tour, and my husband said, ‘You should do a tribute to Taylor, we should recreate the Eras tour,’” Marie said. “I immediately said ‘no,’ and a couple months into it, he kept pushing it, and obviously I finally agreed, and here we are.”

Her performances are kid-friendly and she loves to see her child audience dancing during her shows if the theater allows, Marie said.

“The kids bring so much energy, and you have to match their energy. You have to be above that energy,” Marie said. “All the kids are up against the stage, or there's a big dance floor, and so they're screaming every word to songs, it’s cool, it's really great.”

Marie said this was her first visit to New Mexico, where she will also be touring Farmington and Clovis as well.

“I'm really excited because I get to see a lot of the state while we're here,” Marie said.
