Where there’s a victor, there’s a loser, and sometimes, certain athletes contribute to their team’s shortcomings. These athletes are favorably called bobbleheads.
Tennessee Titans - Quarterback Will Levis
During his rookie season in 2023, there were moments where Will Levis seemed to be the future QB1 for the Titans, but he is now fighting for his job, sitting behind second-year quarterback Cam Ward and veteran Mitchell Trubisky. In their 19-16 preseason win versus the Seattle Seahawks, Levis completed 4 of 9 passes for a forgettable 15 yards. It appears a new destination may be the best thing for him to salvage his pro career.
Texas Rangers - Starting pitcher Jacob DeGrom
The Texas Rangers are having a bit of a middling season, now sitting at second place in the American League West with a record of 66-70. Against the Chicago White Sox, it was a terrible performance for starting pitcher Jacob DeGrom, as he allowed 6 hits and 8 runs, 6 of which in the first inning alone. The Rangers did battle back late, but Degrom dug too deep of a hole for the team, who lost 11-7.
St. Louis Cardinals- Starting pitcher Matthew Liberatore
It has been a rollercoaster of a season so far for the Cardinals, as they currently sit at 68-69 and in third place of the National League Central. Their performance against the Baltimore Orioles in the first game of their most recent series was ugly, ending 13-1 in favor of Baltimore. One guy to highlight from the performance is starting pitcher Matthew Liberatore. The lefty allowed 8 hits and 8 earned runs while he was pitching and now leads in losses this season among St. Louis starters with 12.
