"And I got involved, and I ended up becoming the manager for the ghost tour, and then a year ago, I actually purchased it and expanded to the history tour."

It's shameful to celebrate discrimination, segregation

Editor, This is in response to Josh Hasten's letter in Wednesday's Daily Lobo. Since Judaism is generally passed on through the mother, let's consider Judaism, for the most part, to be a biological trait, which people have no control over, similar to race.

Editor, Two thousand years after the destruction of the Second Temple in Jerusalem in 70 A.D., the Balfour Declaration of independence for a national home for the Jewish people in 1948 gave back what the Romans had taken away. The only Jewish state in the world became a reality.

Coverage of gun incident lacks relevant information

Editor, I live in the Student Residence Center, and I like to take a nap in the little time I have between studying and having a little fun before finals. I must say I slept through most of the gun incident and its aftermath. I was in that Greek mythology class and wondered why a student would be called out by the police standing just barely out of sight.

Question of the Week

Could a campus shooting happen at UNM? Joseph Baldonado Freshman Undecided I really do think that it could happen. Luckily, they were investigating it. I'm glad they were able to catch him. Nick Martinez Freshman Architecture It could happen anywhere. America is a crazy place - especially with all the other different campus shootings across the nation going on.

Israel's ability to survive a good reason to celebrate

Editor, In "Israel's 60th birthday a muted revelry," published in Tuesday's Daily Lobo, Santhosh Chandrashekar claims "Israeli-Arabs suffer what's akin to institutional racism in the U.S." While Israel is not perfect - no country is - Arab citizens of Israel have more human rights and personal benefits living in Israel than in any other country in the Middle East.

Reviewer's assessment of concert was close-minded

Editor, I would like to express disappointment with Carrie Leonard's cursory review of Tegan and Sara's concert published in the Daily Lobo on Thursday. Although she claimed to have gone to the concert with an open mind, having never seen or heard the band before, her assessment of the show was anything but open-minded.
