Guard plays better off bench

Steve Alford said he made a mistake during the UNM men's basketball team's recent two-game losing streak - he didn't bench senior Darren Prentice to start the game. Prentice, one of just three active seniors for Lobos, has been much more effective coming off the bench lately.

A group of students is working to bring their vision of hip-hop to the masses. They are doing it through the Hip Hop Congress, a chartered student branch of an international organization.

Playing video games in class can get you in trouble. But in one class, video games are the final project. There is an open house today for people to play and vote on video games created by teams of students in an introduction to computer graphics class.

Mayor's pride in his roots doesn't make him a racist

Editor, Elliot Kaufman made a pretty big jump in his letter published in the Daily Lobo on Nov. 29 in which he accused Mayor Martin Chavez of racism. He believes that under slightly different circumstances, Chavez saying that Rep. Tom Udall is Sens. Harry Reid's and Charles Schumer's "fair-haired boy" would be an outside jab.



Stylist Paige Davis washes Amanda Schofield's hair Wednesday at Urban Academy. On Monday, customers can get a free shampoo, cut and style if they bring in five nonperishable foods.

Trade in your bad hairdos for some holiday cheer. Urban Academy is asking people to donate five nonperishable food items in exchange for a shampoo, haircut and style. The food items will be donated to Roadrunner Food Bank.
