Track and Field Followers of the UNM track and field team will get a rare glimpse of the team at home Saturday at the Don Kirby Memorial Invitational, held at the Great Friends of UNM Track Stadium. It is the team's only home meet this season.

Men face Memphis in The Pyramid

The UNM men's basketball team is in Memphis, Tenn., today as one of eight teams remaining in the NIT, for a quarterfinal game against the University of Memphis. The winner travels to the Big Apple for the NIT final-four next week.

The UNM men’s basketball team went on an 11-0 run to begin the second half and matched Pepperdine University basket for basket down the stretch for an 81-78 win in The Pit Tuesday night.

Using a great defensive effort and frontcourt scoring, the UNM women's basketball team moved into the quarterfinals of the Women's National Invitation Tournament after ousting the University of Arizona 75-62 Saturday night at The Pit.

Ski team fifth in championships

The UNM ski team finished fifth out of 22 teams with a combined total of 496.5 points at the 48th annual NCAA Championships March 8-10 in Middlebury, Vt. The University of Denver won its second straight championship with 649 points, the University of Vermont came in second with 605 points and the University of Colorado was third with 595.5 points.

Men's tennis team dominates Wolfpack

The UNM men's tennis team used a strong overall effort in destroying the University of Nevada at Reno 7-0 Sunday afternoon at the Lobo Tennis Club. Of the nine matches played, UNM lost only one set and shut out its opponent in six matches

<font color="red"><ib>Web Exclusive:</font> Bliss returns to The Pit: UNM faces Baylor in NIT

Guess who’s coming to dinner? It was the matchup fans talked about the most, an event second only to an NCAA Tournament bid that was just out of reach. The National Invitational Tournament selection committee announced late Sunday that Baylor University will meet UNM in The Pit at 10 p.m. Wednesday in the first round of the tournament in a game that will be televised on ESPN. Baylor coach Dave Bliss left UNM two years ago and was replaced by Fran Fraschilla, who will make his second consecutive post season appearance in the NIT.

With emotions running high on the court and in the stands, a crowd of 11, 451 saw UNM pull off an intense 83-73 win over Baylor University Tuesday at The Pit in the first round of the National Invitation Tournament. The win capped a roller coaster week for the team, which saw it almost play its way into an NCAA Tournament berth, only to find out that its old coach — Dave Bliss — and his new team would come to the place he called home for 11 years.

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The UNM women’s basketball team fell short in a furious comeback, losing 70-65 Friday to Colorado State University in the semifinals of the Mountain West Conference Tournament. The win catapults the Rams (23-6) into the finals, where they will battle Brigham Young University, which outscored Utah 37-10 in the second half to knock off the 13th-ranked Utes 57-50. The winner will receive an automatic bid into next week’s NCAA Tournament.

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The UNM women’s basketball team's bench kept its hopes of a win alive, but the Lobos gave up too many second-chance opportunities, which spelled doom for the their chances in a 70-65 loss to Colorado State University. With the Lobos’ starters struggling from the field, the reserves came into the game and brought energy. However, they could not help combat 17 second-chance points by the Rams.

Las Vegas, Nev. - The UNM women's basketball team used a strong second-half performance to overcome a sloppy first half in its 55-49 opening-round win over San Diego State University in the Mountain West Conference Tournament Wednesday.
