Editor, I am writing in response to Hugo Arias-Pulido's letter about Rep. Steve Pearce's visit to UNM. Arias-Pulido used few facts in his letter, and I would like to offer a few of those as well as an interesting perspective. The main view that Arias-Pulido gave stated that Pearce was completely wrong in voting "no" on the financial bailout bill both times.

A half marathon is just another stroll in the park for Edgar Hernandez. The UNM freshman finished second out of 996 competitors in the half marathon run of the Duke City Marathon on Sunday, ending the day in first place in his age bracket. Hernandez blazed through the course in 1:11:25.
A controversial petition is circulating through UNM's Latin American Studies department. The appeal asks the Hispanic Scholarship Fund to grant scholarships to undocumented Latino students. The national petition, which can be signed online, has more than 1,500 signatures and was started this year by the Association of Raza Educators.

Staff Report The Bernalillo County Clerk's Office is making some exceptions for early voters at UNM. The office modified its polling location rules because of constant pedestrian traffic in the Student Union Building. Maggie Toulouse Oliver, Bernalillo County Clerk, said poll workers at all other early voting sites have been instructed to prohibit campaigning within 100 feet in all directions.
Students will strip for charity in Smith Plaza today. UNM's Public Interest Research Group is teaming up with the New Mexico Veterans Integration Center and Student Veterans of UNM for the demonstration. Sean Debuck, president of UNMPIRG, said anyone can participate in the strip poker clothing drive, but he recommends dressing in layers.
