DREAMERS: Undocumented Student Stories

The Office of the President, the Civil Campus Council, El Centro de la Raza, the College of Fine Arts and the Office of the Dean of Students will host this month’s Civility Speaker Series on Wednesday from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at the SUB in Lobo A and B. Attendees can listen to stories of undocumented students at UNM at the event, according to the press release.

Meeting of the Minds

Christian Waguespack, an intern for the UNM Art Museum, will hold a discussion on Andy Warhol’s “Snapshots and Takes” on Thursday at noon at the museum. The talk is part of a series of art conversations held every Thursday called “Meeting of the Minds.” The events allow curators, faculty, artists and students to view art and engage in a lively discussion about the topic, according to the press release.

Black Panther Palestine

UNM professor Alex Lubin, author of Geographies of Liberation: The Making of an Afro-Arab Political Imaginary, will give a lecture on Monday from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Dane Smith Hall, room 129. The lecture will be on the politics that linked the U.S. Black Panther Party to the Palestinian Libertarian Organization following the Six Day War in Palestine.

ASUNM Arts and Crafts Fair

The Associated Students of the University of New Mexico will host an Arts and Crafts Fair on Nov. 20, 21 and 22 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Student Union Building Ballrooms A, B and C. The fair will include over 70 vendors selling a variety of crafts they made. There will also be live acoustic music from noon to 1 p.m. each day. Admission to the fair is free.
