LETTER: Parking services to close online permit sales Sunday

Editor,

Parking and Transportation Services will be closing the parking permit sales portion of our Web site for redevelopment beginning Sunday at 5 p.m. This closure will not affect informational portions of the Web site or the online appeals process.

More than 3,000 students, the equivalent of a 60-hour line, purchased their parking permits online this year, helping to make this our most efficient parking permit sales season ever. During the year, we plan to expand our online services to include faculty and staff parking permits, vehicle registration updates, alternate payment methods and citation inquiry and payment.

The improved site will open for the 2002-2003 permit year on April 1. Permits for the current year may still be purchased at our offices, on the northwest corner of University Boulevard and Central Avenue. We have streamlined our processes and have added staff to ensure that our customers continue to receive top-notch service.

Thank you to all of our customers for their support of our new online services. We look forward to the opportunity to continue to serve you.

Josh Kavanagh,

Parking and Transportation Services
