Letter: Officials shortsighted in plans for student gallery

The student-run Art Student Association's gallery in the Student Union Building has been UNM's tragedy for many years.

It is no surprise that UNM and ASUNM are willing to convert the poor space it does provide into a gym.

The UNM Art Department is well-known and well-respected around the country, but not here on its own campus.

When the new SUB was being built, students had to fight to get the poor space they have now in order to show their work.

Shame on Walt Miller and Kevin Stevenson for being so shortsighted and not supporting all student activities on campus.
