Letter: Bush's actions set up path of disaster

Editor,

Although I realize that no one is to blame for the hurricane, New Orleans could have been better prepared.

President Bush took money away from a project that would have improved the levies there to make more money for his tax cut. He hired the college roommate of his campaign adviser from 2000 to head up the Federal Emergency Management Agency. FEMA seemed better prepared to respond to hurricanes in Florida last year - I wonder why?

Still, there is plenty of blame to go around, and, really, I don't want to take attention away from the other things that Bush is 100 percent to blame for - the many ways in which he has ruined our economy, our environment and our national security, and, oh, I almost forgot - Iraq.

So blame whoever you want but never forget what Bush has done. Who knows what other cronies will fail at their jobs next time and cause hundreds of people to die, but don't blame Bush, because that's what his unqualified, rich-boy college friends are for.
