Conceptions Southwest editor Monika Dziamka said this year's issue should be better than in previous years.
Conceptions Southwest is a fine arts and literature magazine published by the UNM Student Publications Board to showcase the creativity of students, staff, faculty and alumni.
The magazine is accepting submissions of artwork for its spring issue. The deadline for submissions is Friday.

The magazine accepts writing, photography, painting, drawing, digital art and architecture.
Written submissions can be fiction, nonfiction, theater and poetry.
"The whole point of this magazine is to have a creative outlet for the whole UNM community, so anything goes," she said.
Dziamka said the magazine will improve its Web site this year.
"It's a really big thing, because the Web site was inefficient to say the least," she said.
Dziamka said Conceptions Southwest will host events such as poetry slams and open-mic nights in the spring to promote its release in April.
Conceptions Southwest is welcoming staff to help evaluate, grade and reach a consensus for which submissions will awarded. Dziamka said the awards and prizes haven't been determined.
She said staff members are allowed to submit work, because submissions are judged by a blind jury process, which means the author's name is taken off before it gets judged.
Submission forms are available in Room 131 of Marron Hall. For questions or concerns, e-mail csw@unm.edu or call
