Indie rockers the Fall of Troy are set to roll into Albuquerque's Launchpad on Wednesday to promote their new album,
Manipulator.
This album marks the band's third effort to bring music that, according to its Web site, is still original. Having released their first album when the band members were 17 years old, their new album expands on its predecessors' sound and finds the band maturing.

The Fall of Troy features Thomas Erak on vocals and guitar, Tim Ward covering bass and Andrew Forsman on drums.
On the band's Web site, Erak said the new material was written during a dark time in his life, but offers some hope for the future. Troy's sound can be summed up as heavily synthesized punk, offering its listeners multiple levels of hard guitar and bass riffs with heavy drum beats. The trio's producer, Matt Bayles, was able to blend the angst and pain into a sound that is like no other for Manipulator.
"We wanted to expand upon our band in every direction musically and attitude-wise," Erak said on the band's Web site.
The new sound shows a higher level of maturity in the members' playing and attitude compared to freshman and sophomore
albums The Fall of Troy and Doppelganger.
With Manipulator, listeners are taken several directions at once with Erak's unique sound on the guitar, while Forsman and Ward lay down the rhythms in unconventional ways, making the album the band's most experimental.
According to Erak, the band's passion is to continually evolve and stay progressive. Troy has proven to move forward a little more with each album.
The Fall of Troy is scheduled to bring its mix of music to a 21-and-over show at the Launchpad, alongside indie rockers Tera Melos, who bring a slowed-down style of progressive rock that is similar to Troy's. Horse the Band, which offers an interesting blend of synthesizer and hard rock grooves, will also perform. The three bands should put on an interesting show for those into progressive,
experimental rock.
There will also be an in-store meet and greet at the Hastings Music Store on the corner of Coors Boulevard and Monta§o Road at 3 p.m. Wednesday. Doors for the show open at 7 p.m., with tickets starting at $12 at the door.
