daily lobo asks you:

Do you think UNM should ban smoking on campus?

Mehran Makvandi

Sophomore

Pre-pharmacy

I don't really care about that issue. I could see why they would want to ban it from campus, but there is a lot of people who smoke and attend college. Shouldn't it be their right to continue what they have always been doing?

It's OK. If that's really what they want, I don't have any problem with it. I don't mind waiting until I'm gone (to smoke). I owe the campus that much respect.

Wesley Kress

Freshman

Business

Yes, because second-hand smoking is harmful to all of us on campus.

Grant Garrison

Sophomore

Biology

I try to avoid standing in front of people and smoking. I think smokers could probably be more aware of what they are doing, but at the same time, I think banning smoking is infringing on people's rights.

Emily Haynes

No. I am not a smoker, and I don't really like it, but I don't think it's an issue. I feel like it's a personal health decision. It's along the lines of drinking and other things that I am not willing to make (decisions on) for other people.
