Daily Lobo: So, you say that you're a perpetual student.
Levon Phelan: Yeah. I believe so, yeah.
DL: Why is that?
LP: Because I'm never going to get out of here. I still have a ton of requirements to complete.

DL: How do you feel about the number of classes you have to take before you graduate?
LP: I think it could be reduced, because a lot of the classes I'm taking right now seem really pointless to what I want to end up being.
DL: What do you want to end up being?
LP: A dentist.
DL: Did you know we might get a dental school here in New Mexico?
LP: Oh, yeah.
DL: Is that something that makes you want to stay in the state?
LP: No. Definitely no.
DL: Why wouldn't you want to stay in New Mexico?
LP: I've been here way, way, way too long. And I don't like a lot of the things I've seen here. Just people and things like that.
DL: How long have you been here?
LP: Unfortunately, my whole life.
DL: Where did you go to high school?
LP: Del Norte.
DL: When did you decide that you wanted to be a dentist?
LP: Probably about the 12th grade.
DL: You've wanted to be a dentist for that long?
LP: Well, they make a lot of money.
DL: They look at people's teeth all day. What if they bite you?
LP: Well, I'll bite them back.
