Shame on the person who says he likes music and doesn't own this album. Since its May 13 release, Division has sold less than 100,000 copies. In other words, less than 100,000 people know what an awesome album everyone else is missing. The album explores both the acoustic and hard rock styles of 10 Years, which we barely had a taste of in the band's earlier work. Unlike its previous albums, 10 Years does a fair amount of exploring with its instruments beyond the standard application used in rock music and does some pretty impressive stuff with the variety. Throughout Division, 10 Years displays great lyricism, guitar riffs, melody and variations in intensity and performances by everyone in the band. Division is simply excellent from start to finish. We might get to see what else 10 Years can deliver if this album gets the attention it deserves.

Disturbed
Indestructible

2.5/5
With their latest release, Indestructible, Disturbed demonstrates how well it can deliver a carbon copy of its past albums. This album isn't nearly as good as earlier releases and does not deliver as many hits. That's not to say there aren't some good songs, such as "Inside the Fire" and "The Night," which are sure to propel album sales with their catchy, harmonic choruses and melodic singing. Beyond that, this album displays an unmatched showing of ability by guitarist Dan Donegan. So many songs featuring great guitar solos, coupled with the rising popularity of video games like "Rock Band" and "Guitar Hero," beg the question: Is Disturbed's music now being written with a five-button controller in mind to propel sales? Fans who have enjoyed Disturbed's last three albums can expect to get what they have always received. Heavy metal fans who wanted something harder and people who like to see development in musical style will be sorely disappointed.

Shoot My Cupid
EP

4/5
Shoot My Cupid is proof people should support their local music scene. Their four song EP is certainly worth your attention. At $5, it shouldn't be out of your price range. Unlike some music that more famous groups release, Shoot My Cupid's music is full of lyrics and situations that are quite familiar to the average college student. The band members give the definite impression they are the same people they make music for, something that is difficult to get from more established artists that may have older members. Shoot My Cupid does not have the same accessibility some larger groups have with albums for sale at retail stores. I encourage everyone to go check the band out at its upcoming show on July 24 at the Launchpad where you can buy the EP, enjoy the band live and support local music.
