The UNM softball team wasted no time in its first two games of the fall season.
The Lobos run-ruled West Texas A&M twice Saturday, beating them 8-0 in both games.
Senior pitcher Analise Rubalcava threw a one-hitter in the first game but credited the entire team.
"We were able to be so productive because of the great offense," she said. "The team-first mentality, our enthusiastic
approach to the game and coach (Ty Singleton's) enthusiasm for the game."
The Lobos had plenty of offense to go along with their defense.

Two home runs by Rubalcava and newcomer Jessica Lujan-Dresslar set the tone for the remainder of the day. The Lobos easily subdued A&M 8-0 in the first game of the doubleheader.
UNM was just as dominant in the second game, as freshman Kerry Hodgins and sophomore Tianna George took to the mound in their first outings and combined for the second win.
UNM jumped out to a quick one-run lead after the first inning and never looked back. After a few scoreless innings, the offense came alive in the bottom of the fifth.
Shenise Cox, Rubalcava and George combined for 4 RBIs.
In the sixth, Samantha Hughes and Katie Gilmore got RBIs, and the game was shortened after A&M threw a bases-loaded walk to Rubalcava.
After the game, Singleton said the Lobos looked fundamentally sound - and that's what he was looking for to start off the season.
"I credit the girls for doing a pretty good job advancing the runners and executing the basics: batting, base running, bunting and base on balls," he said.
