I am shocked custodians are being asked to lose money in order for UNM to save money. Forty cents an hour if you earn $8 an hour is a drop of 5 percent. Couldn't President David Schmidly donate some of his salary to increase the hourly rate of custodians? I cannot believe our top administrators earn so much money, and they think nothing of picking on the lowest-paid employees. The custodians have manual labor jobs, and, depending on their age and health, working a 10-hour day is asking a lot. Shame on UNM.
