Editor,
I want to give a brief response to Jason Darensburg's outrageously ignorant letter about Sarah Palin. He viciously calls her a woman who hates women and loves war, but how can Palin be a misogynist if she's a member of Feminists for Life of America, which is America's largest pro-life feminist organization?
The organization describes itself as shaped by the core feminist values of justice, nondiscrimination and nonviolence. Palin supports preemptive military action in the face of an imminent threat. Does that actually mean that she loves war?
It's become too easy for liberals to make their preconceived notions about Republicans based on their distorted portrayal of the media. Does it mean that you love war if you're in favor of improving and maintaining America's homeland security? Palin is qualified to be the next vice president because she is Alaska's 11th governor, because she was the mayor of the town of Wasilla and because she was the chair of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission. Additionally, she earned her bachelor's degree in communications and journalism with a minor in political science from the University of Idaho in 1987. So I think Palin must know a thing or two about foreign policy.
Palin didn't try to rewrite American economic history like Joe Biden did, who thought that President Roosevelt announced the stock market crash on TV in 1929. I fail to understand how Palin's choice as vice president is a cynical slap to the faces of American women.
