The idea of trying to ban smoking from campus is completely ridiculous. I am not a smoker, but I do believe if you want to smoke, then go for it. It is a free country, isn't it?
I do believe, however, that people who do not want to be exposed to the harmful chemicals from tobacco smoke should not be forced to. I think the best option is to designate areas for smoking so everyone is happy. My friend suffers from asthma, and it is very irritating when there are people smoking right next to the entrance of a building and we have to avoid them. If smokers want to keep smoking on campus, they should be a little more considerate to the rest.
