Lauren Gracey
Freshman
Education
Dress: Forever 21, $10
Under layer: Forever 21, $10
Sandals: Forever 21, $7
"I feel I kind of dress like a hippie sometimes, even though I don't do hippie things."
Gracey's vibrant yellow outfit fits perfectly with the blossoming flowers and sunshine. With all her pieces nabbed from Forever 21 for cheap, she shows dressing with the season doesn't require a large pocketbook. Gracey said that while style is important, comfort is a must, as well. And she often layers to be comfortable in fickle New Mexican weather.
Dillon Glazebrook
Sophomore
Biology
Hat: Somewhere in Denver, "borrowed"
Shirt: Thrift store, $5
Pants: Skating magazine, $20
Shoes: Zumiez, $45
"I like to think a lot of things are music and art influenced."
Red shoes and a matching flannel show that fashion isn't always planned. Dillon, who usually wears whatever's clean, pulls off an effortless look supplemented by a gray cap. Dillon shoots for "sketchy" when getting dressed. In a world of trends, Dillon is happily trendless and pulls it off quite well.
Amy Strohacker
Freshman
Art history
Necklace: Tiffany & Co., $195
Dress: Victoria's Secret, $40
Bracelet: Tiffany's, $135
Ring: Tiffany & Co., $135
Boots: Charlotte Russe, $40
"If I feel like I look good, then I'm fine about it."
Strohacker stands with a pink dress and complementary brown boots that draws the attention of any passerby. Well-frocked for spring weather, she also stylizes with chic jewelry - graduation presents - that catch the eye. She calls herself "urban" and retains her sense of individuality with her personalized "A" necklace.
Travis Romero
Sophomore
Architecture
Hat: Boardstop, $20
Glasses: Converse, $100
Shirt: Gift from sister
Shorts: Bealles, $15
Shoes: Vans, $40
Headphones: Hastings, $30
"I have no particular look at all. I just like getting decent clothes at decent prices."
With a printed homeless shelter tee, coordinated with blue plaid shorts and a neon yellow and green hat, Romero shows that guys can adjust their wardrobe to the warmer months as well. Scant knowledge of fashion trends doesn't hold Romero back, but instead allows him to create a look that is functional and individual.
