Do you feel safer on campus now that UNMPD has semiautomatic rifles?

"Yeah.. It just protects the community. I mean, it's an open campus, so it's kind of unsafe, especially in this part of town."

"Well as long as they know how to use the gun, it doesn't really matter what kind of rifle, whether it be semiautomatic or not.. Either way, I feel safe as long as they know what they're doing."

"If there is going to be some psychopath shooting up the school, then we need to have a way to defend ourselves. That's just what usually happens. There's nobody around with a gun to, like, fight back. So, so many more people get killed than should have had someone had a gun."

"It makes me really apprehensive that there are reasons why the police need giant weapons like that, but I guess semiautomatic is pretty standard for, like, police to have, because, like, hand guns are semiautomatic, and I guess I've never heard of a case where a police officer has gone on a rampage and killed people."
