Swine flu has reached UNM's main campus.
A case of the H1N1 virus was confirmed in a student living in Hokona Hall, according to a University e-mail alert released Wednesday evening.
The student has recovered and is now well, according to the e-mail.
The New Mexico Department of Health informed the University of the news late Wednesday afternoon, according to UNM.
The alert recommended students, faculty and staff take precautions against spread of the disease, including good hand hygiene practice and leaving campus promptly after final exams or graduation.
Students and employees with fever, sore throat and cough are asked not to attend group activities, and students with these symptoms should call Student Health and Counseling at 277-3136, according to UNM.

"Increased testing in our community in the last several weeks has shown that many different types of respiratory viruses are circulating at this time," according to UNM. "Anyone who is ill should not attend any group activities or mass events, including graduation ceremonies."
Graduation ceremonies will continue as planned, according to the e-mail, but there will be no hand shaking during the event.
