Diversity a fantasy in Russia, not a reality

Images of President Obama in Moscow bring to mind the last time I saw a picture of a black man in Moscow. This was an international student from Africa who was murdered in a racially motivated hate crime, as part of a wave of such incidents that have not stopped in Russia.

Communism may espouse egalitarianism and therefore imply respect for diversity, but that has proven to be a delusion in Russia, where Neo-Nazi groups operate with impunity.
