It was interesting to read on today’s wire service that the top-10 list of most requested books to be banned is out and that our own Rudolfo Anaya has made the list with his classic work Bless Me, Ultima. One can only dream of a world where puritanical, narrow-minded religious stupidity had never reached these shores. Or, at least, one might hope that it hadn’t crossed into the American Southwest.
Oh, yes, number one is the book about the gay penguins. It’s all true, folks, but you mustn’t have your minds polluted. We are, as always, an amazing people.
