To the “serious journalists” of Doing It in the Duke City:
While I applaud the idea of a column discussing sex in the Daily Lobo and cheer at the idea of having a sense of humor about it, your sex column was profoundly horrifying.
Let’s just make this short and sweet, something I wished the author of “Doing It in the Duke City” had done.
Jokes? Not funny. Think one of those awkward and too-long SNL skits.
Sexual experiences? Disturbing. Just — no. No. Trashy motel in a compromised state: scary.
Writing? Clichéd. Phrases like “doing the deed” are more in line with creepy uncles who raise their eyebrows and elbow you when a guy walks by. Eh? Eh?
Overall, fix it; don’t get rid of it.
