Editor,
Billions and billions of dollars of taxpayer money are being used overseas every day. Empire building is not something that can be done on the cheap. This is unfortunate, because we the people are left to foot the bill. And whenever the news mentions that the national deficit is increasing, we the people are passing on the bill to future generations. Yet, poverty and unemployment are both on the rise in the U.S. Citizens of the greatest superpower in the world cannot find work. Citizens of the greatest superpower in the world cannot pay their medical bills. Citizens of the greatest superpower in the world cannot afford a college education. Where did we the people go wrong? As a friend of mine put it, “You can’t go and feed your neighbor if your children are starving.”
