Enforcing immigration laws shows racism prominent in US

Editor,

A potential new law coming from Maricopa County, Ariz. will make it a crime to be in that county “illegally.” The possible signing of this bill into law says a lot about the state of race relations in America.

First of all, the vast majority of Mexicanos in Arizona are doing work which their Anglo neighbors consider to be beneath their dignity.

Secondly, if the sole purpose of the bill is to fight drug cartels then Americans would do more for their cause by stopping their drug habits.

So what is the only long term solution to America’s racism anyway? As Brother Malcolm X said, “America needs to understand Islam, because this is the one religion that erases from its society the race problem.”
