Firing of analyst for bigotry shows move toward tolerance

Editor,

In what felt like a small victory for humanity against the media’s war on Islam, NPR took a bold step and fired Juan Williams.
Williams told FOX news that seeing Muslims board a plane wearing Islamic dress made him uneasy.

The irony, of course, is that some people feel the same way about Williams because he happens to be black. However, I am sure that he would not appreciate being denied a seat on an airplane simply because of his color.

As much as we have been conditioned by the rulers of this country to see each other as different, we are all human beings who want the same things. We all want love, peace and prosperity.

Divide and conquer is the name of the game.
We will never be able to move forward until we learn to apply the two most basic beliefs of the Abrahamic faiths, which are to love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and to love your neighbor as you love yourself.
