Editor,
My wife and I visited UNM campus this past week for the first time in more than 40 years. We were able to find De Vargas and Laguna dorms, where we were residents back when De Vargas was men and Laguna was women. We also visited La Posada café; it was a great trip down memory lane.
I was disappointed when the cashier lady told us that plans were under way to tear down La Posada. Memories will be torn down.
I was also drawn back to the time I was there and the campus was shut down. We got married during the shutdown. I can still hear the shouts from below imploring me to stand up and be counted, still reducing me to tears. “KENT STATE! KENT STATE!”
