Jim Crane, CNN’s executive director of standards and practices, will visit the SUB theater at noon to discuss how social media has affected ethics and bias in today’s media. The SUB theater is located on the first floor of the Student Union Building.
Swingin’ in the gym
Thursday
Jitterbugs Anonymous will hold its weekly swing dance lesson and social in Johnson Hall’s room B553. The two-hour event will start at 8:30 p.m. and run to 10:30 p.m. and is open to all students.
Crafting before it was cool
Saturday
This “Hipster’s Holiday Craft Fair” will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Vista del Norte Shopping Center. This could be a great way to get locally made holiday gifts long before the shopping rush begins. What’s a hipster craft fair? No clue, but you can be sure they were doing it before it was cool. Vista del Norte Shopping Center is located at 7001 San Antonio Drive N.E.

Monday
Demetria Martinez, author of “The Block Captain’s Daughter” and “Grandpa’s Magic Tortilla” will be speaking as a part of the “Meet the Authors Series” in the UNM Honors Forum at 2 p.m. What’s a magic tortilla? No clue about this either, but it sounds delicious. The Honors Forum is located on the ground floor of the SHAC, room 21.
