Thank you for the great article “Fine Arts lacking vital money for upgrades” in Wednesday’s paper.
I would like to make a correction. The department in the article is the Department of Art and Art History, which is a part of the College of Fine Arts, but there is no Fine Arts Department at UNM. Although we are working constantly to keep the building looking good and working well, it is too old and too small for such a large number of faculty and students.
We also would like to thank the UNM Physical Plant Department for its great efforts in the last few years at improving and updating our facilities, including a major HVAC update recently. PPD regularly does an outstanding job on the constant repairs necessary to our outdated and inadequate building.
