Baseball: Gonzalez and Stevens granted all-regional status

Though their postseason journey ended early, New Mexico was appointed two to the All-NCAA Lubbock Regional squad, announced by Texas Tech on Monday.

Tyler Stevens held the Red Raiders to just a .115 average in his performance on Saturday night, allowing just one-earned run in 7.1 innings against No. 7 Texas Tech. The sophomore righty threw 130 pitches in his no-decision Regional debut.

Fellow underclassman Luis Gonzalez continued swinging his scorching bat in the postseason, hitting for the highest average in the tournament. He had an on-base percentage of .667 and batted .615 in three games for UNM. The centerfielder collected eight hits (four of which were doubles) while scoring a team high-three runs, and batted in eight RBI (also a team-high).
