Editor, UNM students should very carefully consider study and travel in Mexico. I still advocate study in Mexico, but only in very controlled circumstances — circumstances that will curtail UNM students’ engagement with all of the valuable experiences that were once possible in the country.
Editor, As the people of Syria continue to write history with their blood, the Western leaders stand by, playing their violins as Syria burns.
Editor, I am certain that Senator McGill is right about people performing the tasks that God gives them the ability to do, (or, as some say, “God calls them to do”) regardless of what they are paid to perform those tasks.
Editor, The Huffington Post article about this starts with the following: “Someone alert the unions: Raising teacher pay will actually make for worse teachers — according to one GOP lawmaker.”
Editor, Why do I get the overwhelming impression that engineers are afraid of daylight? Don’t get me wrong — I’m not some sort of bronzed Adonis — but I can’t help but wonder why every engineering classroom I’ve ever been in has had its windows closed snug and its blinds tightly drawn.
Editor, While acts of terrorism have been carried out by Muslims living in America and the UK, rarely is it asked: What was the reason behind these acts?
Editor, I am deeply indebted to many people who have loved, taught and inspired me. All my friends and enemies are my teachers — both on how to live and how not to live.

Editor, I find it offensive and rather repulsive that you would allow a comic strip that aims to stereotype fraternities, but, most importantly, one that grossly undermines the issue of rape.
Editor, I’ve been following with interest stories about Santa Fe’s upcoming minimum wage hike. The minimum wage is $9.85 an hour and in 2012 it’s poised to increase to somewhere between $10.22 and $10.32 an hour. I think this is great.
Editor, I find it fascinating that Pat Robertson claims to be having conversations with God. Robertson claims God told him who is going to win the election this year and become the next President of the United States.
Editor, Congratulations to Bob Frank, the Provost at Kent State University, on being selected as the next UNM president. It’s no surprise to me that he was selected; after all, he’s a UNM alumnus.t.
Editor, In Danya Mustafa’s letter on Dec. 5, she was very upset about a three-line ad that urged people to research facts, even though she says she agrees with the only point of the ad, which is to do research.
Editor, In the interest of academic freedom, there are alternate views to the Dec. 7 column, “Does your sex life suck?
