Stop groveling America, punish hostile regimes

Editor, Six Arab nations have told the U.N. Atomic Energy Agency that they plan to pursue and master nuclear technology. This means that we face the threat of nuclear weapons being held not only by Iran, but by several other regimes swarming with and supportive of Islamists.

Show some consideration to vertically challenged fans

Editor, I hope to see The Pit packed on Tuesday when the Lobo men's basketball team plays New Mexico State. But I have a plea to fans from the short people. I'm a huge fan of basketball, but at just more than 5 feet tall, I have a problem seeing the game when all of you tall people stand on the bench in front of me.

Nudity isn't just about sex; nude modeling is about art

Editor, The article "Nude models portray art of assurance" in the Daily Lobo on Monday brought up a good point. I'm still really hesitant telling certain people that I'm a nude model - people don't exactly have the most open minds when it comes to being naked.

Fine arts benefit the mind, should get more funding

Editor, In the Nov. 10 Daily Lobo, I read a letter by UNM student John Ralph about insufficient funds for the fine arts. Even though math and science are essential to modern society, I believe that we would live in a very dull world were it not for the fine arts.

Nude models portray art of assurance

Student Liz Caldwell said getting naked isn't always about sex. "Because I'm willing to be nude by nature, people think that I'm supposed to be an exotic person," she said. "I have almost punched people in the face for that and get very adamant about stating that I am not an object of desire. I am an object of art." Caldwell modeled for UNM art classes for four years and now models for artists and studios around town. Finding artistic models can be difficult
