UNM takes three seed in NCAA tournament

Hot off their Saturday win, the Lobos are lacing up for another dance. As of Sunday, the Mountain West conference tournament champions are third seed in the West region of the NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Tournament.

Top of the Mountain West: Lobos take tournament title

Behind another strong effort from junior guard Tony Snell, No. 15 New Mexico cut down the nets at the Thomas & Mack Center as Mountain West champions after disposing of UNLV 63-56 on Saturday. The win gives UNM (29-5) an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament, which begins next week.

Tony Snell wins Mountain West tournament MVP

In the Mountain West Basketball Championship title game against UNLV, New Mexico’s Tony Snell netted 21 points on 8 of 11 shooting in the No. 15 Lobos 63-56 victory over the Runnin’ Rebels at the Thomas & Mack Center. As a result, the junior guard won the tournament’s MVP award
