(un)Occupy protester and UNM alumnus Sebastian Pais stopped eating Oct. 25 in an effort to convince UNM President David Schmidly to speak to protesters about what they call a violation of First Amendment rights.

Oct. 31 — UNM grants temporary permit allowing protesters to occupy Yale Park from 5 — 10 p.m. on weekdays. The permit expires Friday.

TCU crumbles in second half

TCU couldn’t survive a five-goal onslaught from the women’s soccer team, to the Lobos’ disappointment, said defender Zaneta Wyne. “The first half they came out really hard,” she said.

Winning streak replaces losses

The UNM volleyball team won its third straight game, which stands in contrast to its four-game losing streak earlier this month. Head coach Jeff Nelson said some of that improvement is thanks to senior Kelly Williamson.
