EDITORIAL: Blockbluster blues

New Mexico is the type of place that can make you tear your hair out if you are big on change or efficiency, but it has found its niche by embracing its endearing quirkiness. The Land of Enchantment is an odd mix of culture and stubbornness that lures artists seeking inspiration in droves.

COLUMN: Few win with soaring tuition

The Board of Regents clearly hasn't been reading my columns. At any rate, the regents are not taking my advice. I think we can all agree that a 4.3 percent tuition hike - after years of annual tuition hikes - is a bad idea.

LETTER: Despite lack of funding, Agora proud of its work

Have any of you experienced the following? You're an adult with a college degree - or on your way to one - and a good job that you're successful at; you have a healthy lifestyle and the respect of your peers. But your family still sees you as the snotty 10-year-old who has to be reminded to change your underwear and thinks it's funny to belch the alphabet at dinner.

LETTER: SSE works hard to bring events to UNM

I would like to take this opportunity to explain to my fellow students what Student Special Events is and clear up some misconceptions. SSE is an executive agency of ASUNM. We organize events for the entire campus without political, religious or departmental affiliation. Our goal is to bring diverse speakers, cultural events, different types of music and co-sponsor events with student organizations.

LETTER: A minute can help change UNM

I am writing in regard to a grave affliction that has pervaded this campus for quite some time now and has overstayed its welcome. Figuratively speaking, it is a cancer of sorts, one that delves deep into the essential core of this University and renders the indifference of the student body uncontrollable, proliferative and otherwise rampant.

LETTER: Spring Storm volunteer labor appreciated

I want to take the opportunity to thank Dathan Weems and his organizing staff for the Spring Storm event held Saturday. Even though the event was a first for UNM, it appeared to go very smoothly. I believe it to be a worthwhile event that I hope will continue in upcoming years
