The opportunity to compete for a national golf championship is right around the corner for the New Mexico men’s and women’s teams. The Lobo women will play in the NCAA West Regional tournament starting Thursday at the Tumble Creek Club in Cle Elum, Washington.
New Mexico announced the signing of forward Tohi Smith-Milner to a national letter of intent Wednesday. Smith-Milner comes to UNM from New Zealand’s Rosmini College, where he propelled the team to a national championship in 2011.

New Mexico completed a three-game sweep over San Jose State following an 11-6 win over the Spartans Saturday in San Jose. The Lobos (30-11-1, 14-4 MW) also won two games Friday 14-2 and 5-2. The teams played a double-header on Friday after Thursday’s game was postponed because of poor playing surface conditions.
The New Mexico softball team is still in search of winning a series in conference play. Despite having won the opening game of the past three series, UNM has been unable to obtain more than one win against a conference opponent.
