Women's Basketball: Lobos seek win in Nevada

Youthfulness may be playing a large role in the team’s struggles late in the game for the New Mexico women’s basketball team. “I was looking at the roster the other day and I realized that Sara Halasz is the only player who has played in the program for more than two years,” head coach Yvonne Sanchez said.

It is definitely a start of a new era in New Mexico baseball. Gone are the likes of first baseman DJ Peterson, catcher Mitch Garver, outfielders Luke Campbell and Josh Melendez and starting pitcher Sam Wolff, all of whom signed with major league teams this past offseason.

Baseball: New roster may balance team

Head coach Ray Birmingham does not have many worries about this year’s New Mexico baseball team. One of them, however, is that UNM is lacking experience across the board with the loss of five positional players and six pitchers. Seven of those players were taken in the 2013 MLB Draft.
