Ex-UNM coach returns as foe

Alumni won’t be the only folks returning to UNM for homecoming this weekend. Former Lobo head football coach Dennis Franchione will be back at University Stadium on Saturday.

Volleyball beats Boise State

Oppenheim assistantsports@dailylobo.com Freshman Alijah Gunsaulus had a career-high 20 kills, including the match winner, to help the UNM volleyball team beat Boise State 3-2 on Thursday night at The Pit. The win snaps a two-match MWC losing streak for the Lobos (16-4, 3-2). Gunsaulus also had 14 digs and was one of three Lobos with double-doubles.

‘A tale of two halves’

This isn’t the Lobo football team that rolled over for teams in years past. That’s what the No. 24 Boise State Broncos found out at University Stadium on Saturday when they escaped with a narrow 32-29 victory.
