The first couple weeks of practice consisted of us getting acclimated to a new system, which means coaching style and plays. I don't want to go too in depth with explaining our plays, but in our offense we are going to have a lot of movement with both the ball and players.

In the first half, the Lobos defense looked like a block of Swiss cheese. On the Utes first offensive play, Utah receiver Josh Lyman went 73 yards untouched on a screen pass to the right side and all the way into the end zone for a quick 7-0 lead less than two minutes into the game.
UNM quarterback Casey Kelly and tennis player Maja Kovacek are this week's Daily Lobo Athletes of the Week. Kelly led the Lobos to a much-needed 42-35 victory over Utah. He completed 11 of 23 passes for 134 yards and two touchdowns including an 80-yard strike to wide receiver Dwight Counter.
