Lobos Shake Off Slump

One year ago this week, the UNM men's basketball team was barking up the same tree as this year's team. Last year, the Lobos were 5-4 in Mountain West Conference play and staring at the bottom end of the standings after losing a 99-93 home game to the University of Wyoming Feb. 14.

Turnovers mar Lobos' road loss

The UNM women's basketball team could not overcome 27 turnovers and poor free-throw shooting in the final minute of its 56-53 road loss to San Diego State University. The loss drops the Lobos to 5-4 in Mountain West Conference play and 14-9 overall, while the Aztecs improved to 4-6 in conference play and 12-11 overall.

Wolves head to playoffs on a roll

The UNM Ice Wolves club hockey team ended its regular season with a pair of close wins and are headed to the playoffs. The Ice Wolves will join Weber State University, the University of Utah and Utah State University in the Rocky Mountain Collegiate Hockey Association Tournament.

Just 48 hours after losing a heart-wrenching game at the Air Force Academy, the UNM men's basketball team returned home to a raucous Pit crowd last night and displayed an equally raucous effort in deposing Georgia State University 91-78 in a non-conference game.
