'On Tour' brings jazz legends

Nancy Wilson and Ramsey Lewis are collaborating once more. This Sunday, Outpost Productions presents Wilson, 2004 National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Master, in concert with jazz pianist and composer Lewis at Popejoy Hall. Annually, the NEA names living jazz legends jazz masters based on nominations submitted by the public.

Puppets control premiere

Jorge PÇrez-G¢mez is realizing a goal this week. The UNM music professor has brought Teatro Tinglado, a Mexican puppeteer company, to campus for a series of workshops and performances set to the music of composer Silvestre Revueltas. PÇrez-G¢mez, who is also the director of UNM's Symphony Orchestra, has been researching the music of Revueltas for years.

Students ready to move

Ten student choreographers are behind all of the works in "Arial Moves," UNM's biannual student dance concert opening tomorrow night. Two of these students, Andrea Muehl and Michele Torino, choreographed pieces that focus on duality and contradiction. Muehl, choreographer of "Inner Monday," said her piece is about "finding individuality in a city among thousands of people.

Film depicts crazy club life

Macaulay Culkin and Seth Green dressed in drag, guide us through the chaotic New York club scene in "Party Monster," currently showing at Madstone Theaters. Even though the first part of this film drags - no pun intended - and lacks a real story, the plot slowly builds up, gradually offering a unique experience that is comical and tragic.
